Hello, comic fans.
J. Torres here, host of Comic Book Idol 3. So, we just hit the 24-hour mark of the submissions round and thus far we’ve received just over 30 submissions. Not bad for a day’s work, huh? At this rate, if we continue to get this many submissions per day, we’ll have well over 700 entries!
Okay, that’s not going to happen. But if I remember correctly, we got over 200 in season two.
Looking at the submissions so far, I see at least two artists that I personally think should be in the top ten. There are maybe two or three others who I think stand a pretty good chance of making it into the competition, but it really depends on the caliber of submissions from here on. Again, not bad for day one.
For those of you still working on samples to submit later this month, might I suggest you take a look at what folks are saying in these threads:

Some people are asking some very good questions about what they should or shouldn’t put in their portfolios and how best to present them online, and they’re getting some really good feedback and advice, including hints from former CBI contestants Martin Redmon and Jonathan Hickman.
If you have any further questions, feel free to join the discussion on the CBI forum or drop me a line right here…
Best,
J.
